Appointments

We’re committed to making your care experience smooth and transparent. Below are answers to common questions about appointments at Honeybee Psychiatry.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

A late cancellation fee of $100 will be assessed if it is made within this period.

You can schedule a complimentary onboarding call to ensure we’re a good fit and to help you schedule your first appointment. You may also submit a request through our contact form.

Call/Text Us: 720-776-4275

The onboarding call is a brief, supportive call where we:

  • Learn about what you’re looking for

  • Confirm we can meet your needs

  • Review insurance and payment options

  • Help schedule your first appointment

  • Walk you through the patient portal and next steps

No, the onboarding call is not required. It is a complimentary service designed to remove confusion and ensure everything is clear before you begin care. Our goal is always to provide what works best for you — if you prefer, simply sending us a message through the contact form is enough to get started. See “How do I schedule” above.

You will receive a secure link to join your virtual appointment 24 hours before your first visit. We will guide you through completing the one-time new patient forms and show you how to use the patient portal — either during your onboarding call or through clear step-by-step instructions sent by email.

All intake paperwork must be completed in the portal at least 24 hours before the appointment.

You must also upload your insurance card to the patient portal.

Initial evaluations are about an hour to allow for a comprehensive assessment.

Followups typically range from 20 to 30 minutes.

The onboarding call gives us an opportunity to better understand your needs, goals, and expectations so we can ensure we’re able to adequately serve you. It’s a helpful way to confirm fit and answer any questions before beginning care.

If you prefer to skip the onboarding call, we specialize in holistic medication management for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and related concerns. You’re welcome to visit our Services page to learn more about our approach and determine if it feels aligned with what you’re looking for.

Missed appointments without notice (“no-shows”) will result in a $125 fee and may affect future scheduling.

Your provider may schedule your next appointment during your visit, or you may schedule through the patient portal.

If you are running late, please notify us as soon as possible. We allow a 10-minute window to log on. Depending on provider availability, your appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled.

Billing & Insurance

We’re committed to making your care experience smooth and transparent. Below are answers to common questions about appointments at Honeybee Psychiatry.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept the following insurance plans:
Aetna, Cigna, Anthem(BCBS), Kaiser, Medicare, Medicaid

Please note that not all insurance plans are in-network with Honeybee Psychiatry. Insurance participation can vary depending on your specific plan, employer group, or policy details.

As a courtesy, our team does its best to verify your coverage and benefits prior to your appointment. However, insurance companies do not guarantee payment upon verification.

Ultimately, it is your responsibility to confirm:

  • Whether we are in-network with your specific plan

  • Your deductible status

  • Copay or coinsurance amounts

  • Whether a referral is required

We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to understand your mental health benefits before your appointment.

We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm:

  • Mental health coverage

  • Deductible amount

  • Copay or coinsurance

  • Whether a referral is required

  • Telehealth coverage

Insurance plans vary, and coverage depends on your specific policy.

It is your responsibility to check if your insurance requires referrals.

If your plan requires a referral from your primary care provider, you are responsible for obtaining one before your appointment.

Failure to obtain a required referral may result in the visit being billed as self-pay.

If your insurance plan includes a copay, your copay is due at the time of your appointment.

Copays are determined by your individual insurance plan and are required regardless of deductible status.

After your insurance processes the claim, you may have an additional balance due. This may include:

  • Deductible amounts

  • Coinsurance

  • Non-covered services

Any remaining balance will be billed according to our billing policy.

As a courtesy, we may be able to provide an estimate prior to your appointment. However, this estimate is not a guarantee of coverage or payment. Final responsibility is determined by your insurance provider once the claim is reviewed.

Because insurance benefits vary by individual policy, we strongly encourage you to contact your insurance company directly to understand your coverage and potential out-of-pocket costs.

If your deductible has not been met, your insurance may apply the full visit fee to your deductible. In this case, you will be responsible for the session cost until your deductible is satisfied.

We accept:

  • Credit and debit cards

  • HSA/FSA cards

A card on file is required for all current clients.

Yes. If we are out-of-network with your insurance, you may choose to pay privately.

Our self-pay rates are:

  • Initial evaluation: $300

  • Follow-up appointments: $100

If your insurance processes a claim and determines you have a balance due (such as a deductible or coinsurance), you may receive a statement once the claim is finalized.

Insurance processing times vary.

We also send out statements on the first of each month in line with our Billing Policy.

Please call our dedicated billing line as soon as possible: 855-255-1036

Insurance companies determine reimbursement based on your specific policy, including your deductible status, coinsurance, and plan limitations.

Coverage decisions and payment amounts are determined entirely by your insurance provider and are outside of our control.

If you believe there was an error, we are happy to review your claim to ensure it was billed correctly on our end. However, we cannot override or change payment determinations made by your insurance company.

Because insurance benefits vary significantly by individual policy, we strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider prior to starting care to understand your mental health coverage, deductible, and potential out-of-pocket costs.

For detailed explanations of benefits, please contact your insurance company directly.

Outstanding balances may need to be resolved before scheduling future appointments.

If a balance becomes significantly overdue and we have not heard from you, the account may be considered for collections in accordance with our billing policy.

If you are experiencing financial difficulty, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to discuss options. We are often able to work with patients when communication is proactive.

Insurance claims typically take a few weeks to process, although this time can vary dramatically and is outside our control.

We appreciate your patience.
